FAQs
What is your shipping window?
All packages are shipped within 3-7 business days unless otherwise noted. Earring pre-orders are made just for you and take 2-4 weeks to ship (again, unless otherwise noted!).
Can you combine my orders?
At this time, no. Due to the number of orders we receive and our packing procedures, we are unable combine orders. Multiple orders will all ship separately.
Do you issue refunds?
At this time, we do not issue refunds unless there is a mistake made on our end. Because of this, please read the product description carefully and reach out with any questions you may have before purchasing.
Do you accept returns?
We do not accept returns. Being a small business, we ask that you be understanding of this policy. If you are very unhappy with you purchase, please do reach out as we will make exceptions on a case by case basis!
Do you offer gift-wrapping?
Each order of earrings is carefully packaged up in recycled materials with care instructions and wrapped in tissue paper, ready to be presented as a gift. Your order is then given the Smol Bear stamp of approval and sent on their way to you! So although we do not offer gift-wrapping per say, please know that your earrings intentionally packaged to present as a gift.
All supply orders are packed with care and are visually pleasing upon arrival.
I have seen a design I love on your Instagram/previous collections, how do I purchase a remake?
I will open custom/remake spots in most shop updates and I will announce openings via email and Instagram. This is a great time to make a special request, such as a remake of a design you’ve had your eye on. Although I can not accommodate custom requests outside of these windows, I do take preferences into account. If you are hoping to see a certain pair in a future shop update, drop me a line!
What if my package is lost in transit or stolen?
Once we have shipped your order, unfortunately it is out of our hands. You will receive tracking via the email you provide and we have the same tracking information that you do. We do not provide refunds for missing or stolen items. Because of this, please be sure to provide a secure mailing address and opt to insure your package (you have the option of $200 insurance at checkout. If more is needed, you can add in increments of $200). If you do experience an issue with shipping, we recommend filing a claim with USPS.
I have sensitive ears - what are you ear hooks made of?
All earrings use sterling silver, surgical steel or 22k/24k gold fill ear hooks. This is to ensure that they are safe and comfortable for your ears. If you require a specific metal, please email me your preference along with your order number and I will try fulfill your request free of charge! Please note: I do not offer clip-on alterations at this time.
How do I care for my beaded earrings?
Although durable and built to last, following these simple care instructions will improve the longevity and condition of your beaded pieces:
-
Store your earrings hanging up or laying flat. Thread has a memory and will retain the shape it is stored in for some time. If your strands become bent, you can gently massage them back to being straight.
-
Avoid exposing you earrings to liquid or extreme temperatures.
-
Although tempting, avoid twisting the beaded fringe between your fingers. This can bind the thread.
-
Do not get wet - this can cause minor shrinkage of the thread and your fringe may become too tight. You may notice your fringe tighten in high humidity/if gotten wet. Allow to dry and gently smooth fringe down with you fingers to relax the thread again.
I want to learn how to bead. Do you teach/offer advice?
I believe beading should be accessible to all! However, I do not offer classes or teach beading at this time. I am generally unable to answer folks looking for advice because of the volume of messages I receive. I offer beginner beading kits intermittently that have all the supplies you need to bead included. All these supplies can also be purchased at any time in the store. Additionally, I offer a digital download of Tips & Tricks - this is geared toward folks with a basic understanding of beading looking for specific knowledge that can increase the quality of their work! This can be found in my shop.
If you are looking for resources to learn, I suggest looking for classes where you can compensate the artist for their time and knowledge. If money is tight, YouTube is a fantastic place to look for tutorials! As always, be conscious of the cultural boundaries of beading (and any craft) and educate yourself on what is appropriate for you to create.
