Heyo! I’m Shaina - the gal pouring her love into all aspects of Ridge & River. From the birth of a design to the packaging of an order, I wear every hat there is to be worn in this small business.
Beading began as an escape back in 2019. A way to slow down and think creatively. As Ridge & River has grown, so have I. I am thankful every day for the community this art has provided and the incredible connections I have made with my customers and other creative small business owners.
When I’m not sitting at my beading mat, you’ll likely find me foraging for nature noms (like this massive morel mushroom), nurturing my garden and chicken children, playing outside or snuggling up for movie nights with smol bear and my partner.
Living in Chugiak, Alaska, I am a settler living on Dena’ina land and am grateful for the incredible privilege of living here.

You will notice that all things here at Ridge & River are *smol bear approved
A rescue pup from Chevak, Alaska turned beaded earring connoisseur, smol bear boops and approves each pair of earrings and every order before they go to their forever home. A master of tennis balls, sass and snugs, smol bear would like you to know that the quality assurance program here is in good paws.
When not deeply focused on the approval process, smol bear is fond of pouncing through deep snow, stuffing all 80 of his tennis balls under the living room couch and running around with his humans on their many adventures!
